Theatrical contact lenses and sclera contact lenses are similar but sclera can be used for very different reasons. The sclera is the white portion of your eye. Sclera contact lenses are designed to cover the entire eye, including the white. They can be used for medical conditions such as an irregular shaped cornea and for people who have not been able to use traditional soft contact lenses or as part of a costume. Theatrical contact lenses are designed to be worn only while shooting a film such as The Incredible Hulk. They are used and then stored until they are needed again.
